NETWORKGARDEN GREENHOUSE The lack of garden vegetable growing and specifically tomatos in summer has led to the use of network garden greenhouses, as these overcome the problems faced during summer production. The problems faced in growing vegetables during summer are the high temperatures and moisture as well as other issues such as species of moths commonly referred to as “Tuta Absoluta”. All these negative issues result in increased production costs, curtailed production output and an apparent decrease in the quality of crops. The use of a Networkgarden greenhouse has 3 major benefits: 1. The ability to control the “Tuta Absoluta” problem 2. The ability to tackle all other crop issues 3. Increased production and vastly improved product quality (100% organic) More analytically, we are referring to a steel structure/framework with galvanised poles interconnected with galvanised steel ropes with special connection components. The philosophy/reasoning behind this is the specialist knowledge attained and the exact static calculations irrespective of its light frame steel construction, whereby this frame construction can withstand winds up to 120 khm per hour, as well as suspended weight of up to 25 kilograms per square metre. A second major characteristic is the materials used to cover the greenhouse frame. We are referring to specific insect proof netting covering the cultivation from the sides and the roof. Therefore with full insect proof protection, the result is healthy crop production without the need to use dangerous pesticides. The greenhouse nets used are specially light adjustable to provide necessary shadow. This technology allows for the filtration of sunlight as well as the correct distribution of the light that benefits the photosynthesis process as well as the protection of the plants from sun burns. Conclusively, the use of this technology of Network garden greenhouses, permits the cultivation of any plants during both summer and winter periods, allowing very high quantity and quality production with much less capital investment. SUCCESSFUL APPLICATION The use of this unique technology in Europe has enabled this technology to be also used in tree cultivation with absolute success! It is a fact that during summer cultivation period, the climatic conditions have changed dramatically over the years due to the vastly increased sun rays that result in unnecessary conditions for the growing of insects that are damaging to crop cultivation as well as the many diseases that come with this. Technology know how in recent years has led to the construction of lightweight and economical greenhouse structures with the special nets for light adjustability as well as insect proof netting. The greenhouse structure design allows for nets to be applied at heights from 3.5 metres to up to 8 metres high in a very technical and clever method. The greenhouse structure allows also for the cultivation of climbing plants, enabling a vast array of crops that can be cultivated. In essence, for a low capital $ outlay, an all year round functioning greenhouse can COSTING OF NETWORKGARDEN GREENHOUSE The average costing of the structure is between 25,000 to 35,000 Euro. The return of investment will be accomplished within 1 year from the cultivation. For example, the return of the tomato cultivation is between 20,000 to 25,000 kilos per 1,000 square metres organic cultivation, whereas in conventional cultivation, the return is only 4,000 kilos per 1000 square metres cultivation. Hence the Networkgarden Greenhouse produces 5-6 times production output from the conventional agricultural process. For any further information please contact Fr. Anthony Kalas on +61 414 449 671
